Sydney Monorail

An easy walk to the nearest monorail station at the city centre. Two levels above the street and easy to walk, as I was getting fitter by the day! I elected to have a day pass and at $9.50AUD, I felt was good value. The monorail circumvented Darling harbor so it suited my plans for the day.

Rotnest Island, Western Australia

While visiting Perth I took the opportunity to go and see Rotnest Island, an A class reserve off the coast of Fremantle. Reaching Fremantle by train from Perth, the station close to the dock where the boats depart to go to Rotnest.
It was fascinating to watch a group of Galahs busy searching for food close by. They can be very noisy I discovered but interesting to watch.

Green Island ,Australia

While staying in Cairns I had the opportunity to spend the day on Green Island, which is part of Australia’s Great Barrier Reef.

Travelling on your own is easy! I booked a full day cruise leaving Cairns at 11am, hardly a full day but long enough to enjoy the surroundings. The high-speed catamaran delivered us in 45 minutes to the island. It is off the coast from Cairns, northern Australia.
